As consumer demand for fresh fruits and vegetables continues to increase, so does the risk of contamination with Listeria or other microbes. In order to uphold product quality and protect the food supply in compliance with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), produce growers and processors are held to the highest standards of cleanliness. To help our customers meet and exceed these standards, Hygiena provides rapid ATP tests and 8-hour microorganism tests for products and environmental surfaces. We also provide technologically sophisticated (but simple to use) products that harness the power of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to identify potential pathogens, and other products that can precisely identify microbes down to the strain level, using ribosomal RNA (rRNA). Our quick and easy tests enable fruit and vegetable processors to release products sooner, extending product shelf life.
